Privacy Notice

Version: privacy-2026-08-08-draft

Development draft for product-owner and legal review. Public registration remains closed, and this wording must not be treated as approved launch policy.

This draft notice describes the information needed for the registration development slice and the privacy boundaries already used by the member product.

Information collected

Registration stores your username, email address, password hash, preferred interface locale and the consent choices shown on the form. It records the policy version and time of each choice.

How information is used

Account data supports sign-in, verification, security, member features, moderation and essential service communication. First-party product analytics is enabled by default and can be turned off in Cookie settings. Optional marketing consent is stored separately and is not required to create an account.

Visibility and your choices

Your username may identify public contributions. Profile visibility controls let you show or hide recent check-ins, followed venues, and followed people.

Security and retention

Passwords are stored as hashes. Precise registration IP addresses are not added to consent records. Account and contribution retention, export and deletion rules require final review before registration opens.

Questions and rights

The final notice will identify the controller, contact route, legal bases, recipients, international transfers, retention periods and applicable data-rights process before public registration opens.
